This DLC is best saved for the second half of the game, or even a second playthrough - it has no bearing on,or relation to, the actual game main quest, as the "Band of Bastards" is a separate group. However, the combat can be difficult and chaotic, so best to be familiar with combat, and very capable, before giving it a try.
